Plantzen – Your personal AI plant doctor
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, share, and protect your information when you use the Plantzen mobile application, the Plantzen website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Capitalized terms have the meanings assigned to them in this Policy.
When you create an Account or use the Service, we may collect: first name and last name (e.g. from Apple or Google sign-in, or if you enter them); email address; optional profile details you provide (e.g. display name, preferences).
To provide plant diagnosis and care features, we collect: photos of plants you submit for AI diagnosis; scan history and diagnosis results; saved plants and care reminders you set; any notes or labels you add to plants or scans. You choose what plant and scan data to provide. Core diagnosis features require you to submit at least one plant photo.
If you grant permission, we may collect your approximate or precise location (e.g. for local weather and location-based care tips). You can revoke location access in your device or in-app settings at any time.
User Content includes plant photos uploaded for AI-powered diagnosis and any text or notes you enter in the Application. We may use anonymized or aggregated plant images to improve our AI models and diagnosis accuracy. When used for product improvement, such data is not associated with your identity.
We automatically collect: device type, operating system, and app version; IP address; timestamps and activity logs; crash and error reports; feature usage and analytics; session information. This helps us operate, secure, and improve the Service.
The Website may use cookies, tags, and similar technologies for analytics, functionality, and security. The Application may use mobile identifiers for analytics and performance, in line with this Policy.
We use data to: provide and improve the Service (AI-powered plant diagnosis, scan history, reminders, account management); improve AI and plant recognition (anonymized or aggregated); communicate with you about updates and support; optionally for marketing if you opt in; comply with legal and security requirements; and in connection with business transfers as permitted by law. We do not sell your Personal Data to third parties.
Where GDPR applies, we rely on consent, contract, legitimate interests, and legal obligations.
We may share Personal Data with: service providers (hosting, analytics, AI services, email) under contracts; as part of business transfers; with authorities when required by law; with your consent; or as aggregated/anonymized data. We do not sell your Personal Data.
By submitting User Content (e.g. plant photos), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, store, process, and improve the Service and AI models. We do not publicly display your photos without your consent. Plant photos may be used in anonymized form to improve our AI.
Some features use Google Gemini artificial intelligence to identify plants and diagnose plant problems. Results generated by AI may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific situation. You are responsible for verifying the information before relying on it.
We retain Personal Data for as long as your Account is active or as needed; Plant & Scan Data until you delete it or your Account; Usage Data for a limited period. We delete or anonymize data when no longer needed unless legally required to keep it.
Your information may be transferred to and processed on servers outside your country. We use appropriate safeguards where required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, withdraw consent, object, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint. Contact us at supportplantzen@gmail.com or via in-app settings.
You may request deletion of your Account, plant photos and scan history, and profile data. Contact supportplantzen@gmail.com or use in-app account deletion if available. Some data may remain in backups or where legally required.
We use encryption, access controls, and secure infrastructure. No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us at supportplantzen@gmail.com if you believe we have collected such information.
The Service may contain links to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page and on the Plantzen website. We may notify you by email or in the Application for material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries with different data protection laws.
